New Trail Mud Hole

Today we finally fixed the mud hole at the south end of the "New Trail" - a flat area/basin where water has had nowhere to drain. This trail gets high-use and has been a constant mud problem. After careful, collective study, rerouting seemed the best solution. We added a few big rock choke points to keep traffic on the reroute and covered/hid the muddy area with brush and logs.

In addition, Dave led some of the crew by adding a rolling grade dip in the section below (the PVC pipe area) where potential erosion could harm the trail at the streambed crossing.

Cabin Trail Review
After we finished up with the mud hole project, Ryan, Rich and Greg walked back to cabin trail, reviewed the erosion and collectively drew up a plan of attack: a logical long S-curve reroute was decided upon.
