The Mianus River Watershed Council (MRWC): a volunteer organization of environmentally concerned citizens in New York and Connecticut who are interested in maintaining and preserving the natural, historical and recreational resources along the River and its tributaries. The MRWC assists and guides community efforts toward the protection and enhancement of the watershed's natural resources through communication and education.

Trout Unlimited, Mianus Chapter: a national Organization devoted to conserving, protecting, and restoring our coldwater fisheries. With more than 120,000 members, it is composed of over 400 local chapters of which 9 are in Connecticut. The Mianus Chapter has over 500 members living in the Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, Norwalk, New Canaan and Wilton communities. (We do a little saltwater fly fishing too!)

New England Mountain Bike Association, CT Chapter: CT-NEMBA is the Connecticut Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA). Our mission:

  • Promote sustainable trail access for mountain bikers.
  • Maintain the trails on which we ride.
  • Educate the mountain bike community on how to ride in a sensitive and responsible fashion.
  • Protect the natural environment.
  • Enhance the experience of all trail users.
