ProjectsOverview:Due in no small part to its close proximity to both Stamford and Greenwich, Mianus River Park's enormous popularity calls for constant monitoring and diligent upkeep. Many different groups and agencies have committed time and resources to help maintain and preserve the Park. The Friends of the MRP are receptive to additional suggestions for projects to further the Park's preservation. All projects must be approved by the municipalities that own the land. For work done in Treetops State Forest, approval comes from the holders of the Conservation Easement (Stamford, Greenwich, the Greenwich Land Trust, and the Stamford Land Conservation Trust) and the CT DEP (Dept of Environmental Protection) All projects must be approved by the municipalities that own the land. VolunteersWe welcome corporations to volunteer their employees for work days in the Park. We welcome Scouts and other individuals to volunteer their services. Routine trailwork projects are planned and led by the Trailwork Coordinator. |
